On Saturday, January 18, 2014, five Rancho Verde SkillsUSA members competed at the Regional Leadership Competition day at Apple Valley High School. The results* of the contests are as follows:
*John Dominguez competed in the "Pin Design" contest. but will find out results this Saturday, 1/25, at day 2 of Regionals. He submitted a fantastic design that he drew by hand, then digitized on the computer.
Please congratulate all of our competitors! This coming weekend, we will be taking 10 students to compete in the Technical Skill day portion of the competition. Wish them luck!

If you are interested in attending the regional technical skill day on Saturday, 1/25, the competition goes from 9:00am to 1:00pm, with an awards ceremony at 1:00pm. Location: Universal Technical Institute,
9494 Haven Ave., Rancho Cucamonga, CA. All are welcome to attend & observe the competition events!
Those who earn a medal or a position that advances to the State-level competition will be competing April 24-27 in San Diego against students from all over the state. Gold medalists at State advance to Nationals in June in Kansas City, MO!
- Rodrigo Cobarruvias, Grade 10, earned a BRONZE medal in the "20 Second Elevator Story" event.
- David Gutierrez, Grade 11, advances to State in the "Extemporaneous Speaking" event.
- Preston Nolan, Grade 10, advances to State in the "Prepared Speech" event.
- Joshua Block, Grade 12, advances to State in the "Prepared Speech" event.
